Role
Concept, interaction design, and research. I was the main designer to translate a set of high-level features’ requirements into user-centered interaction design and user flows.
Design Process
An insurance digital project with the aim of making one global app, initially for the Swiss market. I designed the app by translating high-level product feature requirements into working user interfaces.
Design strategy
As high level app structure and basic "insurance" related features were already defined, my role was to understand which additional features/content specifically for “families having children” could be integrated into the app to drive further the engagement.
I started by gathering requirements, defining the scope, understanding the underlying challenges and how to tackle them from UX perspective using 5 key questions:
1. What are the additional features/content we can have in the insurance app
2. Why do we want to have them (purpose, value)
3. Who are we targeting (target users) with these
4. When are they to be used (user context)
5. How should they be used (interaction)
User research
Through stakeholder interview and user research we came down to a set of additional features/content that could be useful for our target customers who are in their 30’s-40’s with family.
They were invited in a co-creation workshop to brainstorm together on a set of useful additional features/content. We then prioritised together.
One of the feature that was voted high was a week-end activities and trips suggestions for family with kids. I developed further the concept by translating into working interface solution.
After some sketches of how the interface could look, I took time to do a small round of user research with users in order to understand priorities of the information & features to display in the interface, see which ones should be primary, which ones should be secondary. Based on this insight, the design hierarchy will be clearly, thus understand how to highlight what more in the interface.

More design iterations were made afterwards, discussion/alignment with clients until the best balanced solution was achieved. Similar approach was taken for other small features. Above/below collection of these sketches
Use cases were defined and related flows specified for discussing with developers and aligning on feasibility and potential issues.
FINAL APP
This app made its debut into the app market since 2016. Key screens below
